Tomorrow is the day Emma leaves forever. The guy came and looked at it today and is very, very interested. He couldn’t get the money today though because Memorial Day threw everything off at the bank, so he’s coming up tomorrow with the cash and will take ownership.

On the bright side, I’m probably not getting a Cobalt. Rather (if it looks as good later in person as it does in pictures) a 2002 single cab, short bed RWD S10 with a 4.3 and 5-speed manual and 68,000 miles.

Has the interior started rattling yet? My friend had one with 100k kms when he sold it and it had just started its first rattles

Ah sweet! Good luck man. I know it can suck letting go of something you adore, but the vehicle you need at this stage in life and the vehicle you want are rarely the same thing. Hats off to Emma, and good luck with whatever you buy!

The S10? No idea, we're going to look at it in about an hour. Even if it does rattle I can't imagine it being any worse than the M3, which is terribad.

Now THAT would be a great truck! no more crazy high miles vehicles. Low miles is the way to go.

It shouldn't be that bad with those miles. My Blazer, however, with over 300k kms rattles like you wouldn't believe

Its just letting you know that you are moving, which with those spider injectiors/fuel pump can ensure that it is not.

Our 94 Bravada with 220k miles would squeak due the rear latch for the glass was loose. Fixed it with electrical tape which quieted it enough to hear the tail gate rattle.

Wow! That is a rare truck. Very cool!!

Hopefully it has a tilt wheel, those regular cabs are tight, and I know you’re not a small person. Of course you could always plunk one out of the bone yard and add it in yourself.

To be fair, I think they were notorious for rattling even when new. I saw a Motorweek retro review of old 4x4s and they are complaining about it, first gen though. I still don’t know how I haven’t had to do my fuel pump yet, or the spider injectors. the fuel pump is the noisiest one I’ve ever heard, too
